President of the Port Authority

Francesc Antich Oliver is president of the Balearic Islands Port Authority (APB) from 26 September 2020. He holds a law degree from the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB). From 1986 to 1989 he was a lawyer and manager of the Patronato Municipal de la Vivienda del Ayuntamiento de Palma (Municipal Housing Board of the Palma City Council) and later became the manager of Urban Planning of the Palma City Council between 1989 and 1991. He has been a member of the Parliament of the Balearic Islands for four legislatures and a councillor of the Consell Insular de Mallorca (Island Council of Mallorca). From 2004 to 2007 he was a Member of Parliament and President of the Joint Commission of the Court of Auditors of the Congress of Deputies. He was president of the Government of the Balearic Islands for two legislatures (1999-2003 and 2007-2011). From 2011 to 2019 he was a Spanish senator appointed by the Parliament of the Balearic Islands and, in 2019, commissioner of the Government of the Balearic Islands in Madrid.
